Introduction to the glass of Chemical tempered

The method of Using chemical methods prefabricated glass surface compressive stress layer called chemical tempering method, also known as ion exchange Enhancement Act. Principles of chemical enhancement method is: according to the mechanism of ion diffusion alter the composition of the surface of the glass, at a certain temperature dipped glass into the high-temperature molten salt , molten alkali metal ions in glass and alkali metal ions due to diffusion occurs exchange, a "congestion" phenomenon, make the compressive stress generated on the glass surface, thereby enhancing the strength of the glass.
Ion exchange enhancement technology include two type: sub-high-temperature and low-temperature type. low temperature Ion exchange means a temperature below the transition point of the glass, the small radius of the alkali metal ions Na + (0.98 Å) in the glass and the molten salt in a large radius of the alkali metal ions K + (1.33 Å) to be exchanged, resulting in congestion phenomenon and reinforced glass surface.
Ion exchange strengthened glass is characterized by high strength, stress uniformity, stability, no blew phenomenon, can be cut processing, no distortion, no optical distortion, suitable for complex shapes, small thickness of glass products is enhanced. So far, its the only effective way is to strengthen the 3 mm or less shaped thin glass. Ion exchange glass reinforced excellent performance, mainly used in spacecraft, high-tech field of military aircraft, high-speed trains, combat vehicles, ships windshield and side windows etc.
